Bremen HS Students Attend 'Lead U' Leadership Conference

The Bridge Teen Center organized event

Several Bremen High School student leaders recently attended a leadership conference entitled “Lead U” at Tinley Park High School. The seminar was organized by the Orland Park based Bridge Teen Center. Bridge Teen Center is an innovative nonprofit community center that was designed around the interests and needs of teens in the southern suburbs. The Bridge Teen Center mission is to provide free programs during after-school and unsupervised hours where students can develop mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually in a safe environment.

The students developed leadership skills through a series of activities and lectures which increased self-awareness and awareness of others. Speakers included Priscilla Steinmetz, founder of the Bridge Teen Center, Jennifer Jones, Teen Bridge Center Program Associate, and Bremen’s own Associate Principal, Paul Rybarcyzk.

The students are wearing masks that represent the different lenses through which people view the world.

“It was a truly inspiring presentation, and the students were completely engaged! They learned so much about how to be a good leader, and I’m excited to see them put their new knowledge into action in their classes, clubs and sports!” said Bremen High School French Teacher and Sponsor Mrs. Amanda Chelepis.
