Bremen HS Students Attend South Suburban Journalism Conference
The 11th Annual Journalism Conference was held at Moraine Valley Community College

Bremen High School newspaper and yearbook students recently attended the 11th Annual South Suburban Journalism Conference at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Heights. The theme of the conference, IHSA Ready, prepared students for the IHSA Journalism Competition in the spring of the year. The IHSA Journalism Competition consists of 17 categories for yearbook and newspaper journalism. "A lot of the workshops were different than previous years, which help in the activities that I'm involved in at Bremen High School" said Junior Jorie Marinez. The conference also helped students improve their publications, which they work on throughout the year. "I think it was very helpful and the information presented can be used not only in our newspaper but in life as well," said Junior Jada Rasberry. The Bremen Echo is published four times per school year. It can be accessed through the Echo page on the Bremen website and is sponsored by Jen Dwyer and Jen Tardy. The Bremen yearbook, The Arrow, is currently available for purchase and at yearbookforever.com. The yearbook sponsor is Mr. Michael Lynch. Bremen participants in the Journalism Conference were: Jackie Diaz, Jacob MacFarland, Deseree Held, Alexsis Masters, Jackie Orozco, Abby Cordes, Jada Rasberry, Edward Phillips, Emma Askew, Hope Porter, Cristian Mercado, Aashauntae Chapman, Jorie Martinez, Maria Herrera, and Alexis Meadows.
