Bremen HS Students 'EverFi' Certified

Financial education program provided through TCF Financial

Bremen High School’s Business Technology Department is proud to announce that nearly 400 students participated in EverFi’s critical skills programming this semester. The coursework empowers students with the essential skills needed to make sound financial decisions and be responsible digital citizens.

Bremen partnered with leading education technology company EverFi, to bring these interactive, web-based resources to students at BHS. These unique resources were available to Bremen at no cost thanks to the generous sponsorship of partners including TCF Financial Corporation (TCF), the parent company of TCF Bank. TCF partners with EverFi to provide the TCF Financial Scholars Program, a financial education program for teens. Together, TCF and EverFi reached more than 500 schools and 50,000 students in two years.

Students at Bremen utilized the EverFi resources within their Digital Literacy and Economics/Career Survey courses first semester and will complete another EverFi program second semester in Personal Finance.

“I enjoyed the interactive modules, I learned more than I would have if we just talked about the topics in class.” Said Bremen Digital Literacy student Destiny Crouch.

The programs utilized at Bremen, TCF Financial Scholars Program Vault-Understanding Money™ and Ignition-Digital Literacy and Responsibility™, rely on gamification and real-life simulations to engage students in topic areas that affect their lives every day.

“Besides allowing the students to work on an interactive gaming platform, EverFi also gave us the opportunity to pre-assess the students to see what they knew going into the unit and allowed us to test them at the end to see what their growth was. The students really enjoyed the certificate that was awarded at the end of the program,” said Mrs. Amber Guzak, Business Teacher at Bremen High School.
