Recently, 25 top academically ranked sophomores from Bremen High School traveled to South Suburban College for their “Explore SSC” day. The 25 students were chosen because they are currently on track to be eligible for the Board of Trustee Scholarship at South Suburban College. This is a two-year full tuition scholarship for students that have a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Each student had the opportunity to tour the facilities and learn about careers in the following areas: Fine Arts, Criminal Justice, TV Production, and Nursing. Ms. Jennifer Bylut and Ms. Liesl Behrens from the Student Services Department accompanied the students on this trip. “This was a great opportunity for students to see the campus of their in-district community college, as well as learn about career opportunities that are available,” says Ms. Bylut.
