Bremen HS Students Go Home to Springfield Elementary School
The high school students visited their alma mater for 'I Love to Read' Week

Recently, 25 Bremen Braves had the opportunity to visit one of their alma maters, Springfield Elementary in Midlothian . The students participated in Springfield’s I Love to Read Week! The students were given free shirts for participating in the event. They were then split up to travel around the school to read to students from grades preschool through sixth grade.
The students enjoyed going back and reading to current students and visiting their former teachers. Springfield teacher Ms. Janine Arneberg said, “For the past few years we have invited and welcomed Springfield Elementary alumni from Bremen High school to return and read to our classes. The teachers enjoy seeing former students and the Springfield students enjoy meeting and talking about reading with high schoolers. The Bremen students talk to the classes about the importance of reading in their lives and answer questions about what high school is really like. It was a very enjoyable day for teachers and students alike!”
Current BHS Students Elizabeth Ortega, Patel Shradda, and Jennifer Jasien were three of the twenty-five students that had the opportunity to visit their alma mater, Springfield Elementary School.
