Bremen HS Students Visit the Federal Reserve Bank
Students were also able to get up close to one million dollars in dollar bills, as well as one million dollars in hundred dollar bills

On April 23, 2018, a group of 35 students and two teachers from Bremen High School visited the Federal Reserve of Chicago and the Chicago Fed Money Museum, all part of the Federal Reserve’s Money Smart Week! The group was given a scavenger hunt to help navigate their way through the Money Museum. While there, they were able to see a special exhibit, Hamilton the Exhibit, that was displayed as part of the Hamilton musical promotions. They learned about the man who inspired the musical and learn how his vision led to the creation of the Federal Reserve System. Students were also able to get up close and personal with one million dollars in dollar bills, as well as one million dollars in hundred dollar bills.
“As part of the Career and Technology Education Department, we try to expose the students to the real world. Being able to bring the students downtown to see the money and hear about our economy from a Federal Reserve employee is a great experience for them!” said Personal Finance teacher Mrs. Amber Guzak.
