Bremen HS's Spanish One Students Dress for the Test

Students explain what they are wearing in Spanish

Bremen High School Spanish teacher Mrs. Gina Arguelles was thinking outside of the “caja” (box) while trying to engage her Spanish 1 students this quarter. Her Spanish I classes have been learning about sports in Spanish speaking countries and have been practicing their vocabulary related to sports. On the day of their test, and in hopes of enticing them to study more, Mrs. Arguelles offered her students extra points if they “dressed up” like an athlete or a fan. The only regulations of dressing for their test was that they had to explain what they were wearing in Spanish. The more sentences they used, the more points they received. “The students did a super job on this speaking opportunity; I’m extremely proud of them!” stated Mrs. Arguelles.
