Buckle Up and Sober Up, Oak Forest: Police to Step Up Patrols for Christmas Holiday
Police will be looking for drunk and unbuckled drivers as part of the holiday enforcement campaign.

From December 19 through January 4, the Oak Forest Police Department will be out in force as part of the annual statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown on drunk drivers. The traffic safety campaign will include high-visibility alcohol and seat belt enforcement throughout the Chicago suburbs.
“We’re giving fair warning to all partygoers,” said Deputy Police Chief Dominic D’Ambrosio. “Drunk drivers will be arrested and those not wearing seat belts—in the front or back seats—will be ticketed.”
The law enforcement crackdown is funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation. This year’s campaign will be supported by federal and state funded advertising—creating a comprehensive program to curb drunk driving during the holiday season.
