BULLDOGS BASEBALL TEAM READIES FOR DISTRICT TOURNEY

Oak Forest High School's Matt Zubek pitched 2 scoreless innings, and L-W West High School's Dan Brokop won the game with a walk-off single.

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–The South Suburban College Bulldogs have advanced to the NJCAA Division I Midwest District Tournament Friday, May 15th to play the host team Kaskaskia College at 12 noon. The winner of the four-team, double-elimination tournament advances to the World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado, May 23 -30, 2015.

The Bulldogs made it to District Tourney by defeating Triton College 6-5 last Saturday to claim the Regional Title. The Bulldogs were trailing 5-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth and scored three runs including Dan Brokop’s (Lincoln Way West High School) walk-off single to win the game. Matt Zubek (Oak Forest High School) pitched two scoreless innings to get the victory. This marks 12 Regional Championships for the Bulldogs and Coach Ruzich, who was named Coach of the Year. Louis Avila (Marian Catholic High School) was named Region Tournament MVP.
