Bully Prevention Club Formed at Bremen HS
Students Gabriela Campuzano and Estefania Flores are spearheading the new club

Bremen High School staff and administration are always urging students to be creative and come up with new clubs to make the school community a better place. Gabriela Campuzano had the idea of an anti-bullying club last year and asked good friend Estefania Flores if she was interested in spearheading the club. After receiving over 300 signatures on a petition to form the club, the students asked BHS Dean, Mr. Otis Lane, to be their sponsor and formed Hero in 2014.
This year, Hero teamed up with the Code of the Braves (character education) to host an anti-bullying month in October. They will be selling anti-bullying shirts and bracelets and urging students and staff to wear blue every Monday. They will also be participating in the Village of Orland Park Bullying Stops Here community walk on October 3, 2015. The walk is part of Mayor Dan McLaughlin’s campaign to end bullying (a national initiative). The walk is intended to educate, inspire, and rally the community together around the growing issue of bullying.
