Central Collision Center’s Christmas in July Food Drive from July 7 – 23 will benefit Alicia’s House Food Pantry, a 501c3 nonprofit in South Chicago Heights. This year’s food drive marks Central Collision’s tenth year supporting Alicia’s House and the company’s first ever summer food drive.
“We moved our annual food drive from Thanksgiving to summer because this is a great time of need for Alicia’s House,” said Mike Caruso, president/owner of Central Collision. “People often think of giving back at the holidays but the need is year-round. Our goal is to stock Alicia’s House until the traditional holiday food drives begin.”
During the company’s 2013 Thanksgiving food drive, Central Collision donated a total of 5,413 items to Alicia’s House.
Operating entirely off of donations, Alicia’s House feeds 60 to 90 local families each week. The food pantry works to alleviate hunger by providing food at no cost to low income residents of Crete, Beecher, Steger, Monee, Peotone, University Park and South Chicago Heights.
Non-perishable food items and unopened toiletries can be dropped off at Central Collision, located at 15232 S. Oak Park Avenue in Oak Forest, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Central Collision will match 100 percent of donations.
