City Warns Of Oak Forest Fire Department T-Shirt Sale Text Scam

OAK FOREST, IL — Oak Forest residents should be careful about incoming text messages claiming to be from the Oak Forest Fire Department, the city said Thursday.

"The City has learned that residents are receiving text messages that appear to be from the Oak Forest Fire Department asking them to purchase T-shirts," staff wrote on social media. "These messages are NOT from the Oak Forest Fire Department."

Anyone who believes they have been scammed should report it to the Oak Forest Police Department at (708)687-1376 and alert their financial institutions immediately.
