Couple Beaten in Encounter with Urinating Men After White Sox Game Sue the Team

They claim security was insufficient. The accused attackers and the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority are also named as defendants.

Two White Sox fans who were beaten in a U.S. Cellular Field parking lot last summer by a trio of men urinating on the fans’ car have filed a lawsuit alleging that the team and ownership failed to provide sufficient security.

Kenneth and Michelle Budka were attacked on July 19 when they came upon three men urinating on their car in Lot No. 277 north of the stadium. When confronted, the men attacked. The Budkas “were violently attacked, beaten, punched, and kicked ... for an extended period of time,” the lawsuit states, and security did not come to their aid.

The men, from Lake County, IL, were later arrested and face charges. They are named in the suit, as well as the White Sox and the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, owner of the parking lot. The suit was filed Thursday in Cook County and seeks at least $100,000 in damages.
