Crestwood Mom Knows the Horror Flint's Families See in Poisoned Water

People are sick because of the water, and the government lied about the water tests in both towns.

The village of Crestwood in the south suburbs mixed water contaminated by cancer-causing chemicals with lake water and piped the water into the homes of its residents for 12 years. One mom who helped expose that problem β€” who developed cancer along with her children β€” identifies deeply with the people of Flint, Michigan, who are suffering a watering crisis brought on lead-contaminated Flint River water. Michigan state officials tried to ignore and alter test results that showed the levels of lead were dangerous to people.

Crestwood also falsified records. The village settled with families for $15 million, and the settlement checks are due to be released sometime next week.
