D228 Board Presents Jonathan Bradley with Its April 2018 Award

Mr. Bradley is the store manager of the WalMart in Orland Hills

At its meeting on Tuesday, April 17, the District 228 Board of Education recognized Mr. Jonathan Bradley of WalMart Corporation by presenting him with the D228 Board Recognition Award for April 2018. Mr. Bradley is the store manager of the WalMart in Orland Hills. He has been with the Walmart Corporation for 15 years. He has been married for 10 years, has two children and one due this month. Originally, Mr. Bradley attended school with the goal of being a history teacher…but as career paths often change, he found himself employed with the WalMart Corporation.

In the fall, Mr. Bradley reached out to Tinley Park High School offering a variety of options for the school community including employment opportunities, grant opportunities and leadership training for students. Of the 4,700 WalMart's in the U.S., the Orland Hills location is one of only four that have what's called a "Divisional Academy." Weekly, leaders fly in from all over the country to teach WalMart employees leadership skills and functional skills relevant to their specific positions. It's a truly unique and very important part of WalMart's future and Mr. Bradley has offered the opportunity to learn with these trainers and enhance educational and training opportunities for Tinley Park HS students.

Board President Stearns provided Mr. Bradley with a plaque for his dedication to D228 and Tinley Park High School students.
