D228 Child Care II Students Participate in Stewards of Children Training

The program trains child care students about the signs and reporting of sexual abuse

District 228 Child Care II students received a certificate for participating in training for the Stewards of Children given by the Advocate Childhood Training Treatment program. The program trains child care students in sexual abuse prevention. Oak Forest High School teacher Katherine Picht said, “In the training, students learn about prevention of sexual abuse, signs, and reporting of sexual abuse.” District 228 Child Care II teachers are Kim Flannigan (Bremen HS), Rebecca Haustein (Hillcrest HS), and Katherine Picht and Mark Furstenau (Oak Forest HS). District Department Supervisor is April Nykaza.
