D228 Communication Arts & Technology Students Place at the South Suburban Video Competition

Congratulations to our students from the D228 Communication Arts & Technology program. They represented their schools well at the 9th Annual South Suburban Video Competition. In the News Program category Rachel Fimbianti and Taylor Szkolny's "Millennial Monthly" tied for 3rd place with "Bravescast" led by anchors Julissa Garcia, Jazmin Mercado and director Claude Martinez. Rachel Fimbianti was also awarded 2nd place for her News Story titled "Powers." In the category of Commercial Katherine Kozlik, Michael Jankun, and Sabrina Nicosia placed 2nd with their "Titanscast" advertisement and Michael Jankun, Emily Plummer, Michael Vazquez and Wesley Howard placed 1st with their "Feeding Birds" spot. In the Public Service Announcement category Kathereine Kozlik, Emily Plummer, and Kaleigh Urban placed 1st with "Texting and Driving. " In the Music Video category "You Came to Do This" by Michael Junken, Emily Plummer, Michael Vazquez and Wesley Howard placed 2nd and "Come Little Children" by Cristina Robertson, Emily Plummer, and Rachel Fimbianti placed 1st. In the category of Short Subject "The Real Housedogs of Chicago" by Cristina Robertson and Kaleigh Urban placed 3rd and "Voices" by Kaliegh Urban, Cristina Robertson, and Sabrina Nicosia placed 1st. Lidia Bravo, Jazmin Mercado, and Julissa Garcia were awarded 3rd place in the Live Multi Camera Program Category for their "Good Morning Midlothian" show and Claude Martinez, Cristian Cervantes, and Julissa Garcia were awarded second place for their "Up Late with Claude" show. Instructor Michael Lynch and the Titanscast Crew took home the Regional Award of Distinction. All winning video can be viewed at www.bdtv228.net.
