D228 Students Earn CPR Certification

CPR certification is part of the District EMT Program

Oak Forest High School Senior Jake Ramos practices compressions on a CPR dummy during CPR Training for Healthcare Providers, held at Oak Forest High School. Students from all four District 228 schools (Bremen, Hillcrest, Oak Forest and Tinley Park High Schools) were learning the skills they need in order to earn an EMT Certification in the District 228 EMT Program. Instructor Tim Forest from Training Concepts, trained students for certification purposes to be an Emergency Medical Technician or EMT. Students can use that certification to get jobs in several medical related fields. This is the second year of the District 228 EMT program. Students can earn eight college credits through South Suburban College by taking this program. Students in the District 228 program are: Michael Dewan, Brandon Evans, Feryal Georgey, Giavonni Gray, Eroll MacAlindong, Courtney O’Connell, Jacob Ramos, and Breanna Morgan.
