D228's 42nd Annual Spring Fine Arts Festival

Guest conductors included a retired teacher, a professor, and a professional music director

Bremen High School recently hosted District 228’s 42nd Annual Spring Fine Arts Festival. The festival featured art work from all four district campuses and a concert featuring the Honors Jazz Ensemble, Honors Concert Choir, and Honors Symphonic Band. Collectively, there were over 300 student participants involved in the festival this year. The featured guest conductors this year were: Professor Judith E. Grimes from Elmhurst College who led the Honors Symphonic Band, Retired 228 Fine Arts Teacher Ms. Bonnie Mootry led the Honors Chorus, and professional music director and on screen music director for the hit T.V. show Empire, Mr. Rich Daniels led the Honors Jazz Ensemble. The audience was very receptive to all of the ensemble performances and rewarded the students with a standing ovation at the end of the concert. The Art Showcase featured artwork from Tinley Park, Hillcrest, Oak Forest and Bremen High Schools. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the District 228 Art staff for creating this lovely display showcase.

The Fine Art teachers are as follows: Mr. Ben Salgado, Ms. Valeaka Freeman, Mr. Vince Aiello, Mr. Nicholas Rojek, Ms. Jennifer Reid, Ms. Jamilah Adebesin, Mr. Victor Pazik, Mr. Dan Chambers, Mr. Adam Pries, and Mr. Edgar Gonzalez.
