D228's EXCEL Students Decorate Doors for the Holidays

Each class selected a door design and worked together to complete the project

Students from District 228's EXCEL program recently had fun designing and decorating office doors at the Administration Center. Each class took on the challenge of selecting a staff member from the Ad Center and then students were responsible for researching a door design they all agreed upon. The students then utilized their available resources and worked as a team to complete their project. For example, one class chose the door to the technology office. They learned about what that job entails and then personalized the door with a technology theme using computer disks and other tech items. Freshman Eric Jordan said, "I liked making the letters on the door, and it was cool meeting new staff members." Junior Selena Marquez said, "I was excited to make the door and had fun with my teachers." The doors will be judged for a winner on Thursday, December 21. The D228 EXCEL program (EXCEL=EXceptional Children doing Everyday Life skills) is held at Bremen High School. Awesome job students!!
