DCFS Investigation Underway in Posen Baby's Death

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is looking into the death of a 4-month-old infant in Posen.

Cayden Miklitsch died at MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island at 4:19 a.m. Monday.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Officer said an autopsy performed Tuesday was inconclusive into the baby’s cause or manner of death. Further studies are being conducted.

Miklitsch lived in the 14900 block of San Francisco Avenue in Posen.

DCFS is investigating the baby’s father and caregiver after allegations of neglect, an agency spokeswoman told the Chicago Sun-Times.

The agency has not had any prior contact with the family.
