Deputy Police Chief Tim Kristin Receives Board of Education Volunteer Award
SD228 Board President presented Kristin with a plaque in his honor
Oak Forest Deputy Police Chief Tim Kristin received the D228 Board of Education Volunteer Award at the Board of Education meeting, held February 17 at Oak Forest High School. Dr. Brad Sikora introduced Kristin and Board President John L. Kirkton presented him with a plaque in his honor.
Deputy Chief Kristin regularly volunteers his time at Oak Forest High School and is often seen at the wrestling meets because he is the wrestling booster club president. His sons, Patrick, who is a senior, and Brian, who is a freshman, both wrestle in the Oak Forest High School wrestling program under coaches Shawn Forst and Jake Thormeyer.
Deputy Chief Kristin also created and helps coordinate the police cadet program at Oak Forest High School. He speaks regularly for the criminal law courses.

Deputy Chief Kristin also values the safety of Oak Forest High School students and faculty. Last institute day, he coordinated a critical incident safety drill in which police, fire department and the critical incident teams were brought together in a drill to train on the best way to protest Oak Forest High School in case of a critical incident.
