District 228 BDTV Teacher Awarded Grant

The grant will allow students to learn media literacy from professionals

Bremen High School is proud to announce that the D228 District Television Production teacher Mr. Michael Lynch has been awarded a mini-grant through the National News Literacy Project (NLP) and Checkology. According to the NLP web site, NLP “is a national education program that equips middle school and high school students with the tools to be smart, active consumers of news and information and engaged, informed citizens.” The mini grant allows Mr. Lynch and his students access to the premier account of Checkology for the year, free of charge. Mr. Lynch is looking forward to incorporating Checkology into his lesson plans. “The NLP gran will allow my students to learn media literacy from professional journalists and develop skills essential to being successful in this media saturated world,” said Mr. Lynch. For more information on BHSD’s T.V. Production program contact Mr. Lynch at mlynch@bhsd228.com.
