District 228 Beginning Phase II of QSCB Projects
Field houses are the main highlight of the Phase II construction
Bremen High School District 228 was very excited to provide new stadiums at each of its high schools in the spring/summer of 2017. The stadiums were part of the District’s seven year improvement plan and were completed on time and under budget. District 228 is now gearing up for Phase II of its improvement plan including field houses, moving and/or expanding parking, walking paths, storage, concession stands, classrooms, green spaces and fitness centers.
At a Committee-of-the-Whole meeting on September 12, architects from Architectural Resource Corporation (ARC) provided the Board of Education with details of the Phase II construction projects. The Board approved the Phase II projects at its regular meeting on October 17, 2017. Renderings showing how the outside of the field houses will look upon completion were also provided at that meeting.
“We are excited to begin Phase II construction at our four high schools. As our students enjoy their new stadiums and artificial turf fields, we are ironing out all the details, beginning the bid process, and planning for construction of the fieldhouses. They will not only provide additional opportunities for our students, they will also be a beautiful addition to District 228 school buildings.” said D228 Superintendent Bill Kendall.
