District 228 Board of Education Recognizes Student Achievement
At its annual Student Recognition Night, District 228 Board of Education honored nearly 200 students
At its annual Student Recognition Night event, the Bremen High School District 228 Board of Education recently recognized the achievements of nearly 200 students from Bremen, Tinley Park, Hillcrest, and Oak Forest High Schools. The event took place at Oak Forest High School on March 6 where more than 500 parents and guests watched as students received gold medallions for their achievements in academics, activities, athletics, attendance, community service, and the fine arts.
As the host school this year, Oak Forest High School’s Sarah Boblink, Kinsey Carrera, Myriam Melidona, Alyssa Ryan and Shaina Spinks sang the National Anthem. The OFHS Jazz Band provided entertainment for the evening. Emcees Briana Alarcon and Jack Dukelow (Oak Forest High School), Sarah Wu and Desire Barriga (Tinley Park High School), Musaab Froukh and Valeria Martinez (Bremen High School), and Eriola Ayo and Obioma Oparah (Hillcrest High School) spoke about their school’s history and why it means so much to them. Following the speeches, the emcees introduced each of their honorees to the stage to receive his or her medallion.

As the evening came to a close, Superintendent Kendall congratulated the honorees and said, “It is always impressive to walk into our high schools and see the amazing things our students do every day.
