District 228 Board of Education Recognizes Student Achievements

The Bremen High School District 228 Board of Education recently recognized the achievements of nearly 200 students from Bremen, Tinley Park, Hillcrest, and Oak Forest High Schools. The event took place at Bremen High School on March 1 where more than 500 parents and guests watched as students received gold medallions for their achievements in academics, athletics, community service, perfect attendance, leadership activities, and outstanding talent in the fine arts.

The Bremen High School Jazz Band played the National Anthem and provided entertainment for the evening. Emcees Javier Covarrubias and Julissa Garcia (Bremen High School), Sheena Jones and Kevin Moore (Hillcrest High School), Emily cooper and Alejandro Rivas (Oak Forest High School), and Amber Holup and Morghan Schnell (Tinley Park High School) spoke about their school’s history and why it means so much to them. Following the speeches, the emcees introduced each of their honorees to the stage to receive his or her medallion.

Board President Debi Stearns and Superintendent Bill Kendall congratulated the students and spoke about the outstanding accomplishments and compassion of those being recognized including:
