District 228 Remembers Oak Forest HS Alumni Killed In Friday Incident

The school district mourns the deaths of two alumni, 20 and 22 years old, killed in a barricade situation, fire Friday morning.

OAK FOREST, IL — Two victims of a barricade situation and fire at an Oak Forest home are being remembered Friday evening as alumni of Bremen District 228.

Briana Rodriguez, 22, and Emilio Rodriguez, 20, were graduates of Oak Forest High School.

"It is with great sadness I write that we lost two Oak Forest High School alumni in a tragedy Friday morning," wrote Superintendent Dr. Brad Sikora. "I'd like to extend my condolences to their loved ones. Our hearts are with you during this immensely difficult time."

Briana and Emilio were among four killed during what police said started as a call for a domestic disturbance at a home in the 5500 block of Ann Marie Lane in Oak Forest.

All Bremen District 228 schools will have counselors available for students and staff in coming days, Sikora wrote.
