Bremen High School District 228 Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) teachers and students have been conducting a 9-Volt Battery Drive to help students who have beeping fire/smoke detectors in their homes.

The campaign started when teachers noticed the need for these batteries after hearing beeping noises during virtual learning.

From this campaign, FCCLA students decided to place an extra emphasis on Fire Safety by starting and promoting their own "Fire Safety Week" at their schools from March 22 - March 26.

While students and staff placed an extra emphasis on fire safety and battery donations throughout the week, they said they would still accept battery donations until they are no longer needed.
