Bridges and Blues

Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials will rock Chicago Gaelic Park in Oak Forest November 5, 2011 from 6-11:30PM for the “Bridges and Blues” benefit to build the 32-mile Calumet-Sag Trail. Friends of the Calumet-Sag Trail invite you to celebrate a heritage forged in the furnaces that built Chicago and laid down in the riffs that built Rock & Roll.

The fundraiser marks the launch of the Cal-Sag Trail Legacy Campaign to build the 32-mile Calumet-Sag Trail in Summer 2013. "We are a corridor of hard working communities given the opportunity to leave a legacy of healthy living, economic opportunity, and environmental stewardship by building this trail," said Mayor Peloquin of Blue Island. "It's a legacy with a Triple Bottom Line."

When complete, the multi-use Calumet-Sag Trail will stretch along 14 communities from Lemont in the west to Burnham in the east. It will connect to regional trails, transit systems, retail areas, parks, forest preserves, marinas, nature centers, and the legacies of Big Steel, immigrant communities and the Underground Railroad.
