Fitness & Health Expo Coming to South Suburban College

The South Suburban College Fitness Center and South Suburban Overall Body Fitness Club are hosting their fourth annual Fitness & Health Expo on Tuesday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to  2 p.m. The public is welcome to stop by and meet the community’s fitness and health professionals.  Admission is free of charge.

This year’s Fitness & Health Expo will feature free health screenings along with demonstrations from 10 a.m. to noon on step aerobics, line dancing, belly dancing and more (dress to participate; lockers are provided). There will also be guest speakers on nutrition, fitness, and health from noon to 2 p.m.

The Expo will additionally serve as a Fitness Center Open House, with the SSC Fitness Program staff on hand to answer questions about classes, memberships, and fitness and nutrition.  SSC’s Fitness Professional Program prepares students for careers in fitness and offers certification as a fitness specialist or a fitness assistant. Students get their training at the college’s own Fitness Center.  The fitness industry is now experiencing a growing number of employment opportunities in corporate fitness programs, health clubs, YMCA/YWCA, fitness centers, and other professional franchises.

The SSC Fitness Center offers memberships to residents of the community for just $66 and senior citizens $33.

For information about the Fitness & Health Expo or about booth rental, call (708) 596-2000 ext. 2577.
