Football: Argo Slips by Oak Forest

Oak Forest's post-season came to an untimely end, as Argo's iron-clad second half defense kept the Bengals from capitalizing on an early lead.

The Argonauts (8-2) went into the second quarter down 12-0, but then came clawing back at the Bengals. Two touchdown passes lifted Argo past Oak Forest, for its first ever state playoff win, Sun-Times Media reports. 

Oak Forest finished its season with a 7-3 record.

Argo moves on to play the winner of Richards High School against Yorkville (kickoff Saturday at 6 p.m.)
