Irish TV star to headline show / Floats in 4 parades / Irish Festival Queen nominations / St. Baldrick's fundraiser.

OAK FOREST, IL - With March only weeks away, there's a lot going on at Chicago Gaelic Park in Oak Forest. Here's a look at a few of the upcoming endeavors during a busy time of year.

Irish Festival Queen Sought

Gaelic Park is looking for its next Irish Festival Queen and runner-up.

All single girls of Irish heritage between 18 and 26 years of age are invited to enter the contest with a $10 reigstration fee before Friday, March 3. Applications are available online or at Gaelic Park's front office. The winners will be announced on Saturday, March 4. The newly selected Irish Festival Queen will enjoy participating in ceremonies, contests, Irish Fest and all of the activities during the month of March and will also be given the high seat atop the Gaelic Park float in the St. Patrick's Day parades.

Gaelic Park Floats Will Be in 4 Parades

Floats will be constructed for four upcoming St. Patrick's Day parades. Gaelic Park will participate in the Oak Forest Parade stepping off from 157th and Cicero at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, the downtown Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade at noon on Saturday, March 11 from Columbus Drive at Balbo, the South Side Irish Parade at noon on Sunday, March 12 at 103rd and Western and the Downtown Tinley Park Parade at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 from 181st and Oak Park Avenue.

Supporters are invited to join and march in the parades. Buses will leave from the park on the morning of the events.

St. Baldrick's Fundraiser Planned

The Carraig Pub at Gaelic Park, 6119 West 147th St. in Oak Forest will host a St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser on Saturday, March 4 beginning at 3 p.m. All donations will benefit the fight against children’s cancer.

Tony Kenny, Ireland's Entertainer of the Year, is Coming to Gaelic Park

Irish stage and television star Tony Kenny, and his show, Irish Celebration are coming to Gaelic Park on Saturday March 11 for a show that will also feature Comedian Songwriter Seamus Kennedy, 2015 Winner of Best Irish Performer Victoria Kenny, Trinity Dublin Band starring Ciaran Mitchell and Eeimear Reilly and The Dublin City Dancers.
