Goal Reached for Police K9 Memorial Donations
Oak Forest is one step closer to having a Police K9 Memorial outside City Hall.

OAK FOREST, IL -- It appears as if a police K9 memorial statue will soon be a mainstay near Oak Forest City Hall and the Oak Forest Police Department. The Oak Forest Police K9 Memorial Facebook page shared the welcome news early Monday afternoon that donations made to the effort to bring the memorial to town have succeeded. The goal was the raise $2,500 for the effort. More than $1,600 was raised on the Fundrazr page made to support the effort.
As part of the participating in the CPD Memorial Foundation’s public art initiative in 2017, Oak Forest's statue will first be displayed within the city of Chicago. But after Labor Day, it will make its permanent home here.
