'Gunshots' Reported in Oak Forest: Cops

Oak Forest police do not believe there to be any threat to the area after residents on Caletta Terrace reported what they believed to be gunshots Thursday evening.

Oak Forest police around 7 p.m. were called to a scene near Massasoit Court and Menard Avenue, where neighbors had reported two sounds that resembled gunshots. Police found ”a small amount of blood,” but no sign of a victim or shell casings, Oak Forest Police Sergeant Tim Wrigley told Patch.

Police searched the area for any evidence or eyewitnesses, but were unable to confirm the reports.

Officers did not locate a victim or offender.
