Homecoming Sweethearts: Tinley Park HS Alum Pops Surprise Proposal
Their story began at Tinley Park High School—so what better place to start the next chapter of their lives?

A Tinley Park Titan love story came full circle Friday, as one alumnus returned to his alma mater to pop a very important question to his high school sweetheart.
Ken Ebertsch, class of 2007, conspired with administration prior to a homecoming pep rally. Behind the scenes, he slipped into the Timmy the Titan mascot costume, with a well-laid plan already in place.
Ebertsch’s girlfriend Christina Demitro works as a substitute teacher at the school—but the pair’s Titans ties run deeper.

Their story began innocently enough, with Ebertsch snatching Demitro’s hair tie while sitting near her on the bus sophomore year. Later they met again at the homecoming dance, though they both went with different dates. That was the start of something sweet, as the two dated from sophomore to senior year. Life then led them in different directions, and they parted ways.
But his broken heart would bring them back together. Ebertsch underwent heart cardiac surgery in August 2013, and there stood Demitro, never leaving his side and surrounding him with prayer. They reunited officially in December 2013. Less than a year later, Ebertsch stood with shaking hands, prepared to ask her to share the rest of their lives.
