White is also a suspect in seven other Dunkin’ Donut robberies in Homewood, Lansing, South Holland and Glenwood.

According to the charges, White donned black clothing, black gloves and a white surgical mask and walked into the Dunkin Donuts at 10801 S. Cicero Ave. around 9:34 p.m. May 13.

When White pointed a black handgun at an employee and demanded the money, the employee got scared and ran into the back of the store, the prosecutor said.

White allegedly jumped the counter and emptied a total of $895 from the front and drive-through cash registers before fleeing.

Two days later, around 5:50 p.m. May 15, White went to the Dunkin Donut store at 4152 S. 167th St., Oak Forest, the prosecutor said.

Wearing the same black clothing and white surgical mask, the prosecutor said that White jumped the counter and emptied the drive-through register of $400, at one point laying the gun down while he stashed money in a bag.

The gun was described as a black heavy BB gun, the prosecutor said.

As White was leaving the store, a witness came out of the restroom and asked White if the gun was real, according to the charges.

The prosecutor said that White cocked the slide up and threatened the witness. The witness followed White out of the store into the parking lot, where the two started wrestling for the gun.

The witness’s friend, who was waiting outside in the car, jumped out to help his pal, the prosecutor said.

Told that the gun wasn’t real, the second witness grabbed it and started hitting White in the head with it.

White later allegedly admitted to police that he had robbed both Dunkin Donut stores.

The assistant public defender told the judge that White’s girlfriend was in the courtroom. White is a graduate of Thornton High School. He asked for permission for White to go to Indiana should he be able to bond out.

“He’s not leaving Illinois,” Judge Felice said. “I have empathy for [the girlfriend] and her children but not him, “

The judge set bail at $500,000 for each count. He also ordered White to wear a GPS tracking device and to remain in Illinois should he make bond.

“He’s lucky no one shot him with a real gun,” Judge Felice said.

White’s next hearing in June 13 in Bridgeview.
