Oak Forest HS cooking classes learn about food related allergens

Kendall College’s Chef, Karin J. Davis, spoke to Vicki Vogel’s cooking classes at Oak Forest High School, and educated students about food related allergens. Davis is a licensed State of Illinois Department of Public Health FSSMC-CI Registered ServSafe Instructor and Proctor of the National Restaurant Association Certified Food Allergen Professional. In her lecture, Chef Davis discussed healthy food choices and wise shopping. Davis also presented a PowerPoint about gluten free lifestyles. Ms. Vogel said, “Chef Karin also made a delicious dip of yogurt, cucumbers, cumin, coriander, and lemon with homemade pita chips.”
