Illinois Tollway and Illinois State Police to host Kids Identification and Safety Seat (K.I.S.S.) event in Alsip on May 21

Summer-long child safety campaign helps parents, grandparents and caregivers create kids' identification cards and install child safety sea

The 2016 K.I.S.S. campaign launches on Saturday, May 21, with an event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Illinois Tollway's Alsip maintenance site accessible off the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) via the ramps connecting to Cicero Avenue and 127th Street. 
Highlights include:

  • Free ID cards for children ages 3 and older and child safety seat inspections and installations
  • Illinois State Police District 15 demonstrate the importance of wearing seat belts with its Roll 15 rollover simulator and the Convincer crash simulator
  • Touch-a-truck displays featuring hands-on exploration of a Tollway H.E.L.P. turck, snowplow, Illinois State Police and Alsip Police Department vehicles
  • Games and activities provided by The Childrens Museum in Oak Law
  • Windy City ThunderBolts baseball team and team mascot Boomer
  • Complimentary refreshments and snacks provided by Jewel-Osco stores
