Lockdown at Central Middle School for Student's Medical Emergency

Administrators called the lockdown to protect the student's privacy while they received medical attention.

Central Middle School in Tinley Park was put on a brief hard lockdown Tuesday after administrators were made aware of a student requiring medical attention.

The lockdown was issued to protect the student’s confidentiality by prohibiting all other students from moving throughout the building while the student was tended to.

“There were no safety or security concerns for any students or staff at Central,” Principal Randy Fortin told parents in an email. “Instruction continued and the lockdown was lifted within minutes.”

No specifics were given regarding the student’s medical emergency.
