Man Shot In Chest Crashes Car Into 2 Homes: Harvey Police

The man died at the scene, and his death is being investigated as a homicide, police said.

HARVEY, IL — A homicide investigation is underway in Harvey, after a man crashed his vehicle into two homes after being shot in the chest, Harvey police said Friday.

Just after 3 a.m. Friday, police were called to a reported shooting in the area of 185 Calumet Boulevard.

The victim, a 42-year-old male who had recently celebrated his birthday, was shot in the chest while inside his vehicle.

After being shot, the man crashed his vehicle into two homes, at 14416 and 14420 Center Avenue, police said. The man—who has not yet been publicly identified—was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
