Man Threatened Metra Conductor, Passenger with Steak Knife: Police

The Riverdale man fled after the confrontation on Monday, but was arrested on Thursday.

Metra police have charged a Riverdale man with assault after he allegedly threatened a conductor and passenger with a knife.

Tony Hale, 51, argued with the Metra Electric Line conductor and a passenger on Oct. 19, shortly before he got off Train #131 at the Riverdale stop. He then pulled a steak knife from his backpack to threaten the two, ABC reports.

Police say he fled the scene, but another conductor on a different train recognized him Thursday based on a bulletin identifying him. Metra police arrested him around 8 a.m.
