McDonald’s Will Add 2nd Drive-Thru
A new building will also replace the existing McDonald's on 159th Street just east of Central.

OAK FOREST, IL - The McDonald’s on 159th Street just east of Central will be replaced with a newer building that will include a second drive-thru lane.
The City Council voted to approve the company’s plan for its space at 5441 W. 159th St., according to a report from the Daily Southtown.
McDonald’s plan includes removing three parking spaces to make room for the second drive-thru. It will also make it easier for customers to enter the property via 159th Street rather than turning onto Debra Drive and entering a subdivision there.

Concerns have been raised by nearby residents over the increase of McDonald’s traffic due to the expansion, but the city’s planning and zoning board recommended to approve the project in February and a traffic study performed by the Illinois Department of Transportation indicated there were no issues.
