Forget about college tuition; wait until you see the annual average cost for daycare in Illinois.

If you plan on having children, or if you’re expecting -- congratulations by the way -- you might want to start saving for your tot’s daycare bill.

There are more than 1.5 million families with children living in Illinois, and many of them require outside help to care for their kids. Unfortunately, the average annual cost of daycare is more expensive than the average annual cost of in-state tuition at public universities, making Illinois one of the costliest state’s for infant childcare.

Here are the costs associated with raising a little one in Illinois, along with where we rank among the rest of the states, according to Child Care Aware America’s 2014 report.
