Nick Lynch Returns to Rockin Horse For Valentines Day

Come out and put your dancin boots on as Nick Lynch and the boys bring in Valentine's Day Nick Lynch style.

If you are looking for something different to take your Valentine on Saturday, Rockin Horse in Oak Forest brings back Nick Lynch and his band. Don’t look for any sappy country love songs, the boys are bringing some tunes by Brothers Osborne, Old Dominion, Chris Stapleton and more.

Bass Guitarist for the band, Andrew Denlinger from Midlothian is excited to be back at Rockin Horse. “We have played Rockin’ Horse a few times over the last year. As a band we are continuing to expand and push ourselves,” Denlinger said. “We are regularly hitting the road, doing runs out to Nebraska recently and will be headed back to Des Moines next month for St. Patrick’s Day,” he added.

Denlinger, also leads modern worship for the Reveal service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tinley Park. His sound on Saturday will be different from what you would hear on a Sunday morning.

“We love to do a lot of medleys and song mash ups,” said Denlinger. “We love to keep the music and the party moving and so we regularly transition right from one song to another and maybe back again. It happens pretty frequently throughout our sets. We just added a new one, that’s actually kind of an old one. It’s a medley of a bunch of classic and popular country tunes. We start with Chatahoochie and flow through Mountain Music, Dust on the Bottle, and finish it off strong with Copperhead Road.”

Lead guitarist for Nick Lynch, Mike O’Meara from Orland Park is excited to be playing for a hometown crowd as well. “It’s always rewarding to play for some familiar faces locally,” said O’Meara. “Over the summer we played at the Taste of Orland and that was a huge deal for me. I can remember being a teenager and playing in a battle of the bands in Orland’s amphitheater and watching the bands on the mainstage after us and thinking to myself “How do I get on that stage?”. So that was a small dream come true and it meant meant a lot to me personally,” he added.

Besides playing for Nick Lynch, O’Meara teaches at the House of Music in Orland Hills.

“In the past year professionally I’ve taken on the most guitar students I’ve ever had at the House of Music, “ O’Meara said. “Usually I’m teaching 35-40 students a week, which is great. I’m so happy to be teaching in the area I grew up and see the House of Music do so well.”

“Nick Lynch is also releasing a new single and has been working on getting it ready the past few months. It’s called “I Call Shotgun.” It’s a great tune. Really high energy and super catchy,” added Denlinger.

“ Some old country tunes we’ll be playing, always fun,” O’Meara said. “It’s great when we can get people in their 40’s and 50’s on the same dance floor as people in their 20’s, “ he added.

Come out and say hello to Nick Lynch and the band Saturday night from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

“The sidemen in bands have always been a huge inspiration for me, said O’Meara. “They play a huge role in the sound we hear at shows and we often never know their names. So I tip my hat to the sidemen and women in bands around the world,” O’Meara added.
