Oak Forest Dedicates 9/11 Memorial
Residents filed into the space around the remnant from the World Trade Center

Oak Forest residents Thursday gathered to reflect on the 13th anniversary of 9/11, as the town honored a new addition to its landscape.
Artifact C95—a remnant from the World Trade Center—is permanently on display outside City Hall, the center of a pentagon-shaped garden. The piece was acquired by Mayor Hank Kuspa—with help from former state Senator Maggie Crotty and United States Senator Dick Durbin—in 2012.
“A piece like this reminds me of why our young men and woman are out there fighting,” Mayor Hank Kuspa told ABC7.
