Oak Forest HS Art Teacher Takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge - Artistically
Art Teacher Adds Creativity to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Art Teacher Dan Chambers had no idea that when Principal Sikora walked into his room on Thursday that it would end in an icy cold shower over his head on Friday. But that’s exactly what happened. Dr. Sikora told Mr. Chambers that former student Jason Kirk had nominated Chambers to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Chambers, the former technical and stage crew director, had worked all four years in tech crew with Kirk. Chambers is not one to back down from a challenge and started thinking of how he could do it artistically. “In all of my planning with the paint and colors, it never occurred to me that the ice water would be cold,” Chambers chuckled later. “It really took my breath away!”

The ALS ice bucket challenge takes place when a participant gets challenged to dump icy cold water over their head in order to help raise awareness and funds for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease.
