Oak Forest HS Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Seniors to play collegiate sports throughout the Midwest

Oak Forest High School Seniors John Horan, Rachel Valente, Shannon Coyle, and Corrina Boersma signed letters of intent to play collegiate sports at universities throughout the Midwest.

Both Rachel Valente and Shannon Coyle signed to play sports for Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Valente will be playing forward on the soccer team for Coach Dan Rothert while studying biochemistry. Shannon Coyle is going to be playing softball for Loras College and Coach Winters. While playing middle infield, Coyle will be studying elementary education and special education.

Corrina Boersma has signed to play softball for Cornell College in Iowa. While practicing as the pitcher for the team under Coach Shanda Ness, she will be studying psychology and political science.

John Horan has signed to play football for Valparaiso University in Indiana. Horan will be playing left guard for Coach Dave Cecchihi while studying mechanical engineering.

Oak Forest High School Principal Dr. Brad Sikora, Athletic Director Ron Towner, Assistant Athletic Director Jake Thormeyer, and Oak Forest High School Coaches Brian McDonough (football), Stacy Lane (soccer) and Katy Dammer (softball) were on hand to congratulate their players as they made this important commitment.
