
Congratulations to Oak Forest High School Senior Athletes Dylan Henson, Danny Roche, Matt Lampasona, Kurtis DeGroot, Jake Rygula, Gretchen Behrens, Samantha Baxa and Jessica Wasik who recently signed letters of intent to play collegiate sports. Dylan Henson is going to play baseball at Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, Indiana. Henson, the son of Corinne and Gil Henson of Oak Forest, will be playing the position of catcher for Coach Griffin. While there, he will major in engineering. Sabrina Baxa is going to play basketball at Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois. Sabrina is the daughter of Tom and Carrie Baxa of Midlothian. She will be playing the position of guard for Coach Garber at Quincy and major in English Education. Kurtis DeGroot, Jr. will be wrestling for Lakeland University in Wisconsin in the fall. Although he wrestled at the 113 weight class for Coach Forst at OF this year, he will be wrestling at Lakeland at 125 lbs for Coach Jake Frias. Kurtis is the son of Kurt and Kelly DeGroot of Oak Forest. While at Lakeland he will be majoring in business. Gretchen Behrens will be swimming for the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota next year. Her event is the distance freestyle and she will be swimming for Coach Scott Blanchard. Gretchen is the daughter of Bob and Dee Behrens of Oak Forest. She wants to major in Political Science and also study languages while at St. Thomas. Danny Roche will be playing soccer for Franklin College in Indiana. Danny, the son of Martin and Sherri Roche of Oak Forest, will be playing the position of center back for Coach Graman. He would like to study criminal justice to become a U.S. Marshall. Jessica Wasik will be playing softball for Trinity Christian College next year. She will be racing in the outfield for Coach Jackie Manrique. Jessica, the daughter of Lisa and Mike Wasik of Crestwood. She will be taking general education classes and deciding on a major. Matthew Lampasona will be playing lacrosse at Augustana College for Coach Dan Torie. Matthew, the son of Michael and Andrea Lampasona of Oak Forest, is an expert midfielder and expects to continue that position for Coach Torie. While at Augustana, Matthew will be pursuing a degree in Business and exploring options within that field. Jacob Rygula will be playing soccer for Defiance College in Ohio. Jacob, the son of Stanley and Jessica Rygula of Midlothian, will be playing the midfield for Coach Jordan Valentine. Jacob would like to study Business Administration and Economics.
