Oak Forest HS BPA Qualifies Eight Students for National Competition

Business Professionals of America National competition will be held in Orlando, FL

Oak Forest High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) Sponsor Connie McSweeney announced that BPA students brought home 11 state medals and qualified 8 students for National Competition.
Special honors went to Kayla Ballard, Jiana Barrera, Katelynn Bernal, Mikella Klimson, Bailey Maurer, and Edith Ramirez who received the Statesman Torch Award for dedication and service to their school and community.

There were two first place awards. Kayla Ballard placed 1st in Advanced Office Systems and Procedures, and Rebecca Boswell placed 1st in Financial Math and Analysis.

Other awards were as follows: Tessa Damien placed 2nd in Advanced Word Processing, Hannah McMaster placed 2nd in Fundamental Word Processing. Tessa Damien placed 3rd in Legal Office Procedures, and Kayla Ballard placed 3rd in Advanced Word Processing. Emily Papiez placed 3rd in Administrative Support Concepts, and Zoe Rios placed 3rd in Basic Office Systems and Procedures.

Other award winners were: Jiana Barrera who placed 5th in Advanced Office Systems and Procedures, Brianna Mitchell who placed 6th in Intermediate Word Processing, and Peyton Giuseffi who placed 7th in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications.

The National Qualifiers will compete in Orlando in May.
