Oak Forest High School student, Max Butler, eats the ice cream that he made as a part of a chemistry experiment in Oak Forest High School teacher Mr. Ron Czarnecki’s class. The class was working on a lab about colligative properties, which is about bonding substances together. Students mixed the ingredients for ice cream in a small baggie, sealed it, and then enclosed it in a larger baggie that was filled with ice and rock salt. Students discovered that the rock salt lowers the freezing point and made the ice cream ingredients freeze faster. The best part of the lab is that students could eat their lab experiment!
